WestMed is a team enterprise comprised of students, office staff, instructors, directors, and training partners in the community - all working together to provide quality, affordable training, and education. WestMed College strives to accommodate all our working students by offering convenient schedules so that continuing your education remains manageable and enjoyable.

Since 2001, Dr. Jerry C. Lee has served as Chancellor of the National University System, of which WestMed College is an affiliate. As Chancellor, Dr. Lee guides the strategic direction of the affiliates of the System. In addition to WestMed College, the affiliates of the System include: National University; John F. Kennedy University; National Polytechnic College of Science; National University International; the Division of Pre-College Programs, which consists of National University Virtual High School and National University Academy; and Spectrum Pacific Learning Company LLC. Entities related to the System include the National University System Institute for Policy Research, the Center for Integrative Health, and National University Golf Academy.

Dr. Charles “Mac” Powell was named the President of WestMed College in April 2010. Dr. Powell holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Missouri. He also completed a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles. Dr. Powell is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and was trained at Cedars-Sinai Hospital’s Center for the Study of Children in Groups, Vista Del Mar’s Family Stress Program, and at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. He also worked as the primary family therapy clinician for a residential treatment facility for women and their families in St. Louis before designing a sports psychology curriculum at the Gateway Golf Academy. Dr. Powell has served as a Subject-Matter Expert for the California board of Behavioral Sciences and as an Executive Board member of the Committee for the Council of Applied Master’s Programs in Psychology.
